Study App privacy policy
Study App is an exam practice app published by Arkyn Labs, a sole proprietorship based in Chennai, India. This policy covers the Study App Android app. Last updated: 6 October 2026.
Not a government app
Study App is an independent practice app made by Arkyn Labs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) or any other government body, and it does not represent any government or political entity.
Official notifications, syllabi and results come only from the commission. Always check them on the commission's official website.
Your account
Study App uses anonymous sign-in. Your account is an id that is not linked to your name, email address or phone number. The app never asks for any of them.
Adults only
Study App is meant for adults. Before you start, the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older, and it stores that confirmation with your account. If you are under 18, please do not use the app.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
What leaves your device
Study App sends the following to its database, and nothing else:
Your account id (created by anonymous sign-in); your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and when you gave it; when you accepted the notice that the app is not a government app; your language choice; and your practice activity: the tests you start and submit, the answers you choose, the questions you flag, how long you spend on each question and on the whole test, how many times you open each question, and your scores, including by topic.
Why we use it
We use this data only to run the app for you: to save your progress so a test can carry on where you left it, to score your answers, to show your results, answer review and practice history, and to show the app in the language you chose. The 18+ confirmation and the notice acceptance are our record that you told us you are an adult and that you read the notice.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build a profile of you for anyone else, and we do not sell or share it with anyone.
Where it is stored
The data listed above is stored with Supabase, in Supabase's Mumbai, India data center (region ap-south-1). Supabase acts as our data processor. We do not run our own servers for this data.
Like any online service, the database keeps short technical logs of the requests it receives, such as the time and the IP address a request came from, to keep the service running and secure. These logs expire on the schedule our Supabase plan sets.
Keeping it safe
Data travels between the app and the database encrypted in transit. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell affected users and the Data Protection Board of India without delay, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep the data listed above for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the app, the account and everything linked to it are erased from our database straight away. If you ask by email instead, we aim to do the same within 7 days.
From 13 May 2027, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 require a record of processing and its logs to be kept for one year, even after an account is deleted. Before then, we will update this policy to say exactly what is kept and for how long.
What Study App does not do
This version of the app shows no ads, has no in-app purchases, and does not use an advertising id. It does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
If any of that changes, we will update this policy before the new version of the app reaches you.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it, to have it corrected, completed or erased, to have a grievance answered, and to nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or are unable to act.
To use any of these rights, email developer@arkynlabs.com and include the account id shown in the app's settings. We need it to find your account, because the app holds nothing else that identifies you. The app's own Delete account button erases your data at once, with no email needed.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Deleting your account withdraws it fully: in the app, open Settings, then Delete account, or email developer@arkynlabs.com. After that, nothing more is sent and your stored data is erased.
Deleting your data
Deleting your account deletes the account itself and all the practice data linked to it. There is no partial deletion. If you use the app again afterwards, you start as a new user with no history. See how to delete your account.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects or why it collects it changes, we update this page and its date before the new version of the app reaches you.
Contact and complaints
Questions about this policy or your data: developer@arkynlabs.com. The founder of Arkyn Labs answers them.
If you have a complaint about how the app handles your data, email the same address. We aim to reply within 7 days, and we always reply within 90 days.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
